Tell North Carolina’s Democratic Party: Antisemitism Has No Place in Our Politics!
The North Carolina Democratic Party has passed a resolution urging the United States to take actions that would strip Israel of its ability to defend itself. By doing so, the party has turned its back on the Jewish community here at home.
We are deeply concerned that this resolution:
- Ignores the brutality of Hamas and other Iranian-backed terror groups and aims to jeopardize Israel’s security.
- Falsely equates a democracy protecting its citizens with terrorist groups that deliberately target civilians, a distortion that undermines fundamental American values.
- Fuels antisemitism, at a time when antisemitic incidents are surging, by singling out the world’s only Jewish state while ignoring other global conflicts.
This sends a chilling message to Jewish Americans, in North Carolina and nationwide. Resolutions like this, rooted in anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric, risk spreading. Their backers are already pushing to replicate it in states like Texas, Oklahoma, and Minnesota.
That is why we, the undersigned, call on:
- The North Carolina Democratic Party to rescind this resolution immediately.
- Elected officials across North Carolina and the entire country to speak out before this becomes a dangerous new normal.
- Voters to hold accountable those who abandon our allies and our values.
We will not stay silent as Israel is maligned and endangered, the Jewish community is abandoned in a time of rising threats, and our core American values are betrayed.
